South American Breed Study Update

Fibre Colours: The natural colours are white.

Feel in hand: lovely soft and crispy squishy feel.

Fibre prep: None. Im just spinning all these fibres for the study from the braid in a short forward draft.

Smell: It has a lovely smell to the fibre the sheep smell is not overbearing. It has almost like a baby powder clean hair smell.

Fibre uses: Its soft enough to use on any knits Im guessing.

Historical facts: All I could find on this is that Argentina is the largest producer of wool in South America and this fibre is probably a mix of Corriedale, Merino and Polwarth.

Next to skin feel: Lovely

Fibre Luster: Its shiny / dense/ feels crisp but also soft.

Staple length: 3" to 4"
Microns: 25  to 26

South American spun yarn details:
Spun on my Kromski Sonata - using the whorl size 10 to 1
I plyed from center pull ball
DK (10 WPI)
39.6 meters
Plying shows a definite pretty twist in the plyed yarn
A pretty creamy white colour with a matte sheen but not overly bright sheen.
Would I buy this fibre again.. Yes
Would I knit with it.. Yes.. its soft when you squish it with your hands and next to skin soft enough with a soft crisp nice feel.
