Chilean White Breed Study Update

Colours: White

Feel in hand: Nice and squishy soft like a merino.

Fibre prep: Ill spin as it comes from the fiber.

Smell: Similar smell to the Teeswater sheep smell. Clean and not overbearing hardly smells sheepy.

Fibre uses: Anything I guess as its soft enough for next to skin wear.

Historical Facts: "Chilean white sheep aren't a single distinct breed but typically refer to standard European sheep (like Merinos or Dorsets) common in Chilean Patagonia and the ChiloĆ© Archipelago, known for their white wool, vital to local farming, with the native Chilota sheep being a unique, ancient breed from ChiloĆ© that also features white variations."

Next to skin feel: Feels good Nice and soft

Fibre Lustor: Probably the same as Merino and Dorsets.

Staple length: 3" to 5"

Microns: 20 to 26

Chilean White spun yarn details:
Spun on my Kromski Sonata - using the whorl size 10 to 1
I plyed from center pull ball
worsted (8-9 WPI)
39.6 meters
This is probably the softest yarn spun so far. It feels amazing.
Plying shows a definite pretty twist in the plyed yarn
A beautiful sheen but not overly bright sheen.
If I hold it near my face and neck I feel the teeny tiniest prickle.
Would I buy this fibre again..  Definite Yes
Would I knit with it.. Yes and I think its soft enough for baby knits. I think beanies, socks, shawls, scarves, sweaters and whatever else you'd like to knit it into.
