Time for an update

Well its been a long time since I posted to my little blog and that's because early this year in March I had a major car accident that resulted in a fractured wrist and a cast for 8 weeks. Fast forward to now 8 months later and my wrist is still healing the doctor said it will be a year until the bone is completely mended but I have resumed spinning again.

I've spun a whole heap of yarns since my cast came off and Ill post pics of them with brief details attached as I have previously posted photos of them on my Instagram page.

So in June I spoilt myself and bought an Ashford electric carder. Can I just say its so good not having to hand prep fleece especially while my wrist is healing. In August I bought a few fleeces and scoured them, its now 3 months later and I'm finally finding the time to card and spin them up.

I'm thinking of actually knitting myself a cardigan with them so Ill pop the process pics on here as I go.

I actually bought 2 other fleeces as well in August from a seller on Esty that I dyed. I hadn't bought from this seller before and honestly I don't think I will again.. They were Corriedale and Merino fleeces and they are lovely but they weren't coated and the grease was a lot more than the seller described. I only really bought them because I loved the look of them in her store photos but next time Ill stick with my usual Shepherd I buy from. I'm going to card the last of those dyed fleeces up tomorrow and pop some sari silk top into them. Ill pop some pics on here in a post of the carding and spinning process.

What else have I been doing.. I finally spun up all the super wash merino /nylon fibres I dyed in October 2024 .. that was a mission but at least most of those yarns have now sold. I'll pop pics on the bottom of this post of those yarns.

I've recently been thinking of doing some weaving and I'm trying my hardest to ignore this temptation as I don't have enough time to spin, knit, crochet and felt as it is! But weaving my own yarns into scarves / shawls / fabrics etc. how cool would that be! .. But I've also thought of trying to wet felt as Id like to try and make wet felt art like Moy Mackay

So many ideas and not enough time! Ok time to get this post up and finish plying up some singles I spun last night otherwise Ill get nothing done.
